En 1998, los Manic Street Preachers alcanzaron el N1 de las listas británicas con esta canción con nuestra Guerra Civil de fondo. El título tiene su origen en un cartel de la época que animaba a los británicos a apuntarse a las Brigadas Internacionales en defensa de la República de España en el que se leía: "Si usted tolera esto sus hijos serán los próximos". Tiene referencias a la novela de George Orwell Homenaje a Cataluña. También se inspiraron en Spanish Bombs, la canción de The Clash.

Por suerte si conozco a Orwell y mucho. Homenaje es uno de mis libros favoritos, lo he leído unas cuantas veces.
